Q: The year is long. When should we go?
A: The season for Wandertrail Tours is April to October. Spring is usually warm enough for swimming in the south Adriatic.
Croatia gets busy in July and August during school holidays. September tends to be warm and sunny, and the crowds are usually gone by then.
Q: What is the difference between the room types?
A: Available accommodations are in double, twin, single and triple rooms. A double is a room with one bed for two people. A twin is a room with two separate beds. In Croatia, it is normal in some accommodations (especially in small hotels and homestays/guesthouses) to consider two twin beds pushed together to be a double bed.
Q: I have never sailed or canoed before. Can I still do the trip?
A: Sure you can! All Wandertrail Tours trips have been designed with a degree of flexibility when it comes to activities. Usually it is possible to do an easier or shorter version of an activity. Our travel colleagues and guides will help you find the best fit for your needs and abilities.
Q; Can you provide vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. diets?
A: Yes, for the majority of our trips, we can. Just let us know in advance. Please be aware that if you choose vegan, vegetarian or gluten free diet you will be unable to switch to standard menu during trip.
Q: Can a solo traveler go?
A: Yes, you can. We’ll be happy to recommend a trip that would best suit your needs. You can request a single room or let us know if you are a traveler willing to share a room so we can pair you up with another solo traveler. In case there are no other single travelers willing to share a room you will be required to pay the single rate.
Q: How can I book and pay?
A: Please choose your trip and send us request via email using the form on this page. After receiving your request, we will collect and confirm all your information. Within five days of confirmation, please send check to: Wandertrail Tours, 1262 Sunny Dr. Eugene, OR 97404.
Q: How am I insured?
A: All trips are covered by deposit insurance under the umbrella of the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies, and mandatory insurance policies for tour operators, including liability and personal accident insurance. We encourage purchasing additional travel insurance before the trip.
Q: Life happens. Cancellations too. How can I cancel my reservation?
A: For reservation info and cancellations policy please Click Here.
Q: What happens in case of bad weather?
A: Unfortunately poor weather is always a possibility, but we run most of our trips from May to September when Mother Nature is generous. Safety is our top priority so alternative itineraries and activities will be arranged in case of unfavorable weather conditions.
A: Customary gratuities to the motor coach driver, tour guide, and hotel staff are not included. These gratuities should be extended on a voluntary, individual basis.
